Making Park Winters Fig Jam
Check out our process of creating our delicious Fig Jam right here in our country oasis.
We start by picking our mission figs when they're at their peak ripeness (usually around mid-June to early July). Then we add cardamom, ginger and lime and mix it all together. It then goes through a processor that removes the skin of the figs and out comes the sweet and succulent jam which we then carefully pour into jars and label with our iconic Park Winters Fig Jam sticker. From the magical Fig Forest at Park Winters, comes an abundance of sweet and succulent Mission figs, which are picked at the peak of ripeness to be transformed into this vibrant and unique fig jam. The sweetness of the figs are complemented with aromatic cardamom, spicy ginger and tangy lime.
Slather it on hot buttered toast, serve on a crostini with goat cheese and cracked black pepper, or swirl into vanilla ice cream. This versatile and unique condiment pairs well with both savory and sweet recipes.
